Executive Director
As a people-centric, high functioning, progressive organization, the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Southern Arizona Affiliate in Tucson is committed to fulfilling the organization’s vision of a world without breast cancer. The governing Board of Directors is seeking a new Executive Director to continue its transformation and drive the operational initiatives and elements that support the board’s mission-driven strategic plan. As a highly evolved and nationally recognized affiliate of the organization, we follow gold standards and best practices in the non-profit industry, led in strong partnership by the Executive Director and governing board. The successful director maintains effective and synergistic relationships, is a facilitative coalition builder and has the ability to drive transformational change. Salary range $60,000 to $75,000. Health (includes vision and dental), retirement and vacation benefits provided. Review of applicants begins November 1 and continues until position is filled. Target start date is January 1. Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3 – 5 years management experience
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Ability to supervise, motivate and support volunteers and staff in a team environment
  • Ability to engage community leaders, volunteers, supporters and donors in the mission of the organization
  • Demonstrated success building collaborative relationships with organizations and individuals
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to plan, set goals and objectives, organize and follow through
  • Maintain long-term strategic vision while attending to day-to-day tasks
  • Demonstrated competence in fiscal management
  • Knowledge of fundraising

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous non-profit work experience
  • Demonstrated success and experience in fundraising
  • Familiarity with public health issues
  • Experience managing boards and committees
  • Knowledge of Susan G. Komen for the Cure
  • Spanish speaking a plus

Other

  • Background check required
  • Some travel, evening and weekend work required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and accounting software
