Survivors

The Komen Southern Arizona Race for the Cure is a celebration of survivors and an opportunity to remember those we have lost to this terrible disease.  As a survivor, we hope that you will be reminded how many friends are running beside you every step of the way in this Race for the Cure.

Below are some important things you will need to know in order to make your Race Day experience as special as it is meant to be!

Survivor Activities

  • Survivor Parking - Dedicated parking is available to all registered survivors off Camino Campestre just west of Hi Corbett field.

  • Pink Taxi Service - A special Survivor Shuttle is available to you from the Survivor parking lot to key points within the venue and back to the parking lot after the race and survivor ceremony.

  • Survivor Medals - Every survivor that crosses the 5K finish line is awarded with a beautiful 2012 medal recognizing their accomplishment.

Survivor Hill Activities

Pink Cafe Breakfast - As a registered survivor, you will be provided 2 breakfast wristbands in your Race packet prior to the Race.  These wristbands will provide you and 1 guest access to the Pink Cafe for breakfast from 6-9 am.  Please take advantage of this wonderful benefit to meet and greet other survivors in comfort and shade.

Survivor Tent - Our Survivor tent seeks to honor you, our outstanding Survivors.  Located just across from the Pink Cafe, the tent will feature special activities to thank, provide fellowship for, relax, pamper and surprise you.  Watch for special pink hats, gift bags and much more.  The Survivor tent will conclude at the beginning of the Survivor Ceremony.

Ribbon of Life - Help us celebrate our survivors, sign the Ribbon of Life which will be used during the Survivor Ceremony.

"In Celebration Of" and "In Memory Of" Back Signs - We invite all Race participants to recognize those special people in their lives who have been touched by breast cancer.  "In Memory Of" and "In Celebration Of" back signs will be available at the Survivor Tent, Registration Tent & all Information Stations on Race Day as well as Race Weekend Registration events on Friday and Saturday prior to the race and anytime at the Komen office.  Take this opportunity to celebrate and honor those we love who have faced the challenges of breast cancer.

Survivor Ceremony - One of the most inspirational and moving moments of Race Day is the Survivor Ceremony.  Please gather at the stage at 9:45 to prepare for the touching ceremony.
