Celebrate Paws for the Cure this Saturday
We are celebrating 10 years of service to Southern Arizona by launching Paws for the Cure, a partnership with the Humane Society of Southern Arizona (HSSA) to promote women’s health and pet adoption. Join us this Saturday, November 21st from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the grand opening of the Humane Society’s new adoption center at Park Place Mall. We will be there commemorating our 10th anniversary while educating the community about breast cancer and the benefits that a pet companion can have on your health.

If you have a pet who has been instrumental in your life with cancer we want to hear about it! Email stories and pictures to info@komensaz.org. Also check out the Susan G. Komen featured pet from the Humane Society every week in November . During the month of November all pets adopted through HSSA will receive a free Susan G. Komen for the Cure collar and facts on breast cancer.

Thank you for your support over the past 10 years and we hope to see you on Saturday!

Southern Arizona Affiliate's Campaign Receives Top Honors
The new awareness campaign by the Southern Arizona Affiliate in Tucson is grabbing the attention of those in the community and by advertising and business professionals as well. The "Size Doesn't Matter" campaign tells people about the resources available at Susan G. Komen for the Cure and reminds them of the importance of breast self-awareness and early detection.

The public service announcement earned a Silver Award, the highest honor available in the national 2009 Telly Awards. It also was awarded Best of Show, Broadcast at the 2009 Tucson Advertising Federation Addy Awards. More importantly, the Southern Arizona Affiliate has received a number of calls from women who said they were motivated by the campaign to take action and schedule mammograms, connecting many women to screening and services who were under and uninsured, including two whose screenings resulted in a positive diagnosis. We're SASIE!
SASIEOn February 20, 2009, Susan G Komen for the Cure Southern Arizona received a SASIE (Southern Arizona Smart Inspiring Enterprise) award! Thank you to the Arizona Small Business Association, and SASIE judges for this wonderful recognition. And of course, we'd like to extend a big thank you (again!) to the leaders, staff and volunteers in the organization. They help maintain the culture and passionately devote them selves to the work of this organization. Without them, this award would not be possible. They have made our mission their promise, and it shows in everything we do.
